Application
RUSTICAL mortar for facing tiles is designed for pointing facing tiles imitating stone, sandstone as well as for a natural stone and some kinds of clinker. It is characterised by plasticity, increased adhesion to the surface and resistance to weather conditions (frost proof and water-resistant). It can be applied indoor and outdoor on buildings as well as on fence posts.
Surface preparation
Before starting jointing make sure that both - surface and the adhesive used for tiles - are completely dry. Use spatula to remove the dirt and dust from the joint to ensure optimum adherence.
Directions for us
Mix about 2 kg of dry grout (more may set before using it all up) in a clean bucket adding about 0,33 litres of clean water. Stir well until the grout becomes uniform and after 3 min. stir again. Using the attached bag with a 8 mm diameter hole apply the grout evenly and tightly into the joints (Fig. 1,5). After about 2 min. smooth it out with a small trowel (Fig. 2,7) or with the other end of the attached brush (Fig. 6). Use spatula to remove the excess of the grout (Fig. 3). The mixture must be used within 15 minutes after time of mixing. Note that depending on the type of tiles and weather conditions the drying time may be shorten (in case of gypsum boards and temperature over 20°C). After application but before setting of the grout, use the brush (Fig. 4,8) to give the joint the final look remembering not to stain the tiles. Note that overdone smoothing with the brush may cause unpleasant gloss of the joint and differences in the joint colour.
Precautions
The work should be done in dry conditions in layer and air temperature from +5°C to +20°C. Freshly applied grout must be shield from the rain, sun, dew, temperature below +5°C, and strong wind for at least 24 hrs. after finishing the work (fence elements should be protected from rain, sun, temperature at least for 3 days). Conservation work on the surface can be done after at least 7 days from finishing the work. „Rustic joint for facing tiles” includes cement and after mixing with water has alkaline reaction therefore avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with water and in case of subsequent redness seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. In case of dry substances, avoid inhaling the dust.
